There are a number of hacks like that which don't depend on file path lengths though; and in any case, quota on linux now also limits the number of inodes which should (?) Somebody implemented a filesystem on top of this namingscheme to bypass the quota system. So allowing abitrary long names, or levels of nesting directory, in general is not always a good idea.hwhnoreply@blogger.com
